A virtual cultural retreat

To help you through this difficult period when, more than ever, one needs to tighten ties and feel good, Esprit de France offers to share with you some of the great initiatives of the artistic and cultural world. All these institutions have decided to transform our isolation into a "cultural retreat", and for the majority of them it is completely free of charge

thumbnail_66406.hr_parespritdefrance.jpgYou can thus, on the Paris Opera website (via the Octave section), relive, in full, recent shows such as Don GiovanniLes Indes Galantes or the ballet Giselle. Do not forget to also visit their 3e Scène where a brand new creation has just been put online - Clinamen by Hugo Arcier

This Opera offer, as well as that of the Opéra Comique or the Philharmonie, is also available from the site the Ministry of Culture has put online through #Culturecheznous. This site is a true gold mine, since it offers the broadcast of recent shows from our biggest institutions, but also podcasts and special virtual visits of our national or Parisian museums. Why not visit museums that you hardly have time to see during an -always too short- stay in Paris: the fabulous collections of the Manufacture de Sèvres -the National Museum of Ceramics-, the surprising Musée de Cluny built on Gallo-Roman baths, for example, or go back to the Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay the collections of which are inexhaustible? On the same site, you can carry out a more thematic research on an artist, on photography or on national heritage.

image_parespritdefrance.jpg.pngEach of the Parisian museums has its website through which you can make virtual visits, that of the Château de Versailles for example, or Monet’s Water Lilies at the Musée de l'Orangerie, or activities like the ones promised by the IMA (Institut du Monde Arabe) which range from shows to gastronomy not forgetting children's activities,… Children are included on all the sites with educational and playful proposals, an example: the web series Mon oeil created by the Centre Pompidou. The Grand Palais, for its part, opens its doors virtually for a visit to the Pompeii exhibition, which was to be the event of March.

Here are some tips that will allow you to replace the frustration of an actual visit with information, or even with a course -the cultural Moocs of the Fondation Orange associated with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux dealing with Colours or with Art History are currently available - they can be both serious and great fun
