The Petit Palais Museum

A XVIth century museum at the heart of Avignon, between Middle-Ages and Renaissance

The museum is located in the episcopal palace Petit Palais, the conception of which fits with the new aesthetics that rapidly became a model for domestic architecture in Avignon.

The Petit Palais, built during the time of the popes in Avignon - 14th century – is now devoted to Italian painting and Avignon Art of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
It houses one of the most important collections of Italian primitives outside of Italy.
