Winter activities to do in Paris with your children.
If you are staying in Paris with your family and have already visited the famous Disneyland Paris and Parc d'Astérix leisure parks, certainly there are plenty of activities and family entertainment ready to welcome you in Paris! First of all, why not combine tourism and relaxation with a boat trip on the Seine by day or even better at night with the most emblematic monuments of the capital shining brightly. Note that the Vedettes de Paris and the Bateaux Parisiens offer Enchanted Cruises for children! You will navigate past the Eiffel Tower but also past the Grand Palais, the gigantic nave of which is occupied during the Christmas period by an exceptionally large ice rink open to everyone until late at night. Another nave, also impressive, is the one which is in the Jardin des Plantes and it houses La Grande Galerie de l'Evolution: 3,000 specimens of naturalized animals are on view and retrace the fabulous history of animal life on earth! The Jardin des Plantes also owns a zoo that will appeal to all ages and, during the Holiday period, a display presenting 50 monumental luminous structures on the theme of creatures from the Ocean.
Holiday season is of course the time for very specific and amazing attractions for the young and the old: the magic of circuses, such as the Cirque Bouglione at the Palais d’Hiver -a listed building-, the authentic Romanès Tzigane (Gypsy) Circus, the Bormann Moreno Circus under an old-style tent, and this year the Cirque de Paname show presented under a majestic tent at the Hippodrome de Longchamp, always meet the same popular success.
And whereas a great Parisian scene, the Zenith, presents a show that will delight children at this end of year, Disney on ice, some other heritage locations invite you to discover their treasures in a more amusing way than usual: a Night at the Pantheon (this is its 4th edition) reveals the Great Men and Great Women of French History equipped with a flashlight and surrounded by music; a Murder party at the Château de Vincennes unveils this high place of the French monarchy; and an exceptional exhibition on the History of France, all built in Playmobil, awaits you at Les Invalides. And last but not least, don't forget the big funfairs that are being held this season at the Jardin des Tuileries -with its giant Ferris wheel- or at the Parc de La Villette; or even the big Department Stores window shows on Boulevard Haussmann. Paris offers so many opportunities to entertain you and your family, that we will certainly tell you more about them later on...
