The spirit of the “Nouvelle Vague”

At the heart of the old village of Saint-Tropez stands a legendary place with an incomparable atmosphere and sea views from its rooms and suites.

For many years, it was the favourite haunt of legendary figures such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, Boris Vian and Brigitte Bardot... all of whom imbued the place with the spirit of joy and freedom which they embodied and this continues to be the case with Romy Schneider and Catherine Deneuve.

Floor tiles, works by native-born or adopted Saint-Tropez painters and artists such as Dany Lartigue, Fredo Vachon, Henri Person, Emile Gaud and André Dunoyer de Segonzac, the scent of lilies and private terraces: the Provençal décor gives it the feel of a family home.

The La Ponche restaurant commands one of the finest views of the bay. The delicate, delicious, sincere and simple menu remains true to the establishment’s reputation. Our recommendation: rockfish soup, salt-crusted sea bass and, in season, poached figs. The hotel also boasts an exceptional wine list.
