Le Manoir des Impressionnistes : A Brush with the Good Life
There was a time, many years ago, when Le Manoir du Butin – as it was once known – could only be reached at low tide. Those days are gone, and visitors can now enjoy this chic country retreat renowned for its exceptional restaurant.

From the town of Honfleur, it now takes just a few minutes to reach the seven-acre park overlooking the Seine estuary. As soon as you pass the gate, the charm of the place becomes tangible, and a sense of peace surrounds visitors as they walk towards the 18th-century Anglo-Norman façade. The warm, elegant welcome from the team, led by Bridget and her children, completes this enchanting first impression.
Everything here is an invitation to relax and reflect. Whether in the eleven rooms or the various outbuildings, modern comforts are combined with the old-fashioned appeal of Norman furniture, period tiling and Toile de Jouy fabrics. Each of the cosy rooms offers soothing views of the park, the beach or the Seine. Opposite the manor house, an authentic life-size tableau unfolds before your eyes. Every day – and every hour – produces a different light, which explains why Monet and his contemporaries were so inspired by this setting.
Fine Cuisine in Front of an Impressionist Painting
A slight shift in perspective happens when you step into the restaurant at Le Manoir des Impressionnistes. Open to non-residents and available for private hire – just like the manor and its outbuildings – the space is an idyllic setting for an romantic meal or an event. From its terrace or its dining room framed by large bay windows, the sea stretches out to the horizon. You may even be lucky enough to seethe boats returning from the sea, whose daily catch inspires the chef’s cuisine

Championing Local Products
The menu features dishes showcasing perfectly mastered cooking techniques and sauces that enhance, without ever overshadowing, the excellent local produce and mouthwatering accompaniments. Whether the trout and salmon from the Vatierville fishpond, AOP-label cheeses from a neighbouring farm, Utah Beach oysters, Normandy duck foie gras, pan-fried scallops or free-range pork chops, every dish celebrates the manor’s close ties with local artisans, vegetable growers and markets. This manifesto for bold, forward-thinking gastronomy is supported by an excellent wine list which has made the establishment famous, with the fine wines of Burgundy in pride of place. In every respect, this is somewhere that makes a strong impression.
