In the Berry region, at the Prieure Notre-Dame d'Orsan founded in the 12th century, the art of gardening of the pre-Renaissance times has been brought back to life.
The illuminations have enabled to re-create the hedges and fences, arbours and arches, raised flower-beds,kitchen-garden, orchards, a garden of medicinal herbs, a rose-garden, a secret garden... so characteristic of monastery gardens.
The out-buildings house a reception area and a restaurant specialised in the high-quality produce from the orchard and kitchen-gardens, as well as an exhibition centre for those interested in nature, gardens and landscapes.
You will find harmony and comfort in the elegantly furnished bedrooms, located in the former dining-hall and sleeping-quarter of the Prieuré.
A beautiful stopping place of calm and greenery.
